I purchased this about a month ago. I am satisfied with it so far. I would consider this unit to be medium duty. I say that because my last dryer (Maytag)lasted for over twenty years. I am told the newer units are not built to last that long. From what I read, it depends on how many times ( cycles ) you use it. My wife and I are the only ones home now since our children moved out. I hope to get 5-7 years out of this unit We like the features.

GE Dryer

This dryer replaced a GE dryer model we purchased "years ago". That model still was working and trouble free when taken out of service at the end of December 2016! The new replacement dryer was purchased as a set with the washer and we felt like a retirement was in order. Wonderful machine! Quiet and efficient and very easy to install and operate.

Nice roomy tub with just enough settings! I love the handle on top of the door rather than on the side. Much easier to open. I haven't lost a fingernail yet as with the side handle. Also love the location of the "lint screen". Much handier for me in front, than on top. No "cons" yet.

I like this dyer because it has a light and end of load signal. It is a little noiser than my old dryer though. But I can live with it
