GE® 7.2 cuft Elect DRYER very good, not super

This dryer works quite well, imo, with its variety of settings and timings, such as: Optimal Dry, Less Dry, More Dry etc. I have 3 complaints on the design, however.
1) The door is difficult and loud to pull open. I risk breaking a fingernail every time! Grrr. Everyone in the house can hear the dryer door opening and closing, especially late at night. BANG, BANG!
2) If you leave the door open, the light will stay on. If you don't want the light to stay on, you must close the door. Usually, I do not need a light inside the dryer, so why not give that option? This dryer begs for a toggle on/off switch.
3) The lint screen is inside and below the door opening and angled oddly that it does not glide in and out easily, which is seriously annoying.

I have had this machine for two months now. So far I've tested the medium/casual, low/delicate and air fluff settings, but not the high heat setting. The buzzer alert when done is adjustable in volume, or off. Mostly it is a good machine for us.
I would recommend this to a friend!

A few surprises but does the job.

Image appears to show a door that opens downward but it's actually hinged on the right side to swing open from left to right. Fortunately that works for us but, having purchased online without seeing in person, this is not what we anticipated. Knobs also easily over-rotate and pull off which causes indicator lines to no longer align in the correct position. Finally, the removable filter feels cheap/fragile. Holding up so far after ten uses but time will tell. Other than these few surprises, this unit dries well and operates much better than its matching washer.

So far so good, I love the way the dryer works, its been a long time since I bought a new dryer, my last one lasted for about 20 years, I hope this one will last at least half that time..

Great features and easy to use

Dries oversized loads in one cycle, it works great on jeans colors whites and even bulky items like towels and sheets/ blankets. The interior light is very convenient when doing laundry at night, and the lint trap is convenient.
I would recommend this to a friend!

easy to use easy to install. if i had one complaint it would be that the door doesn’t open flat all the way like my old dryer did and my washer is right next to it so i can’t just open it and offload the washer into the dryer without the door being kind of in the way.

easy and simple design less to go wrong with no electric buttons or display. my one complaint would be the door doesn’t open all the way flat to the washer next to it like my older dryer did so i have to offload the washer around it but i’ve gotten used to it.
