Timer Knob Problem
on April 20, 2025
Posted by: JCS23
from Pike Road, Alabama
The Timer Knob cannot be used to set dryer cycle. The knob has been difficult to turn since receiving the dryer. Finally, the knob evidently broke/stripped connection and would turn easily; however, it was not turning the actual dryer control. I had to attach a locking plyer tool to set the control for use. This was done with the knob removed. The dryer does well with drying clothes, etc. This is the reason for the positive marks (3).

Failed multiple times… and counting
on June 15, 2025
Posted by: Failed multiple times
This is the worst dryer I have ever owned. Less than a year old and I am waiting on the 4th repair. Problems started about 6 months after purchase. Thermostat sensor failed multiple times after repair. It wouldn’t start. Had to take laundry to laundromat for weeks waiting on repair. Now, the drum spins but no heat. Breaker is fine. Another failure for a totally defective product.
Stay away from this product.
For the GE folks reading this review, please look at my service history and please call me if you dispute any of this review.

Disappointed in quality

3 years and a month old, the purple wire to the heating element literally melted down (a common problem, just Google it!) causing the dry to quit heating. The terminal is half way melted off from the heating element so the element now has to be replaced along with the melted wire.

No heat = no drying

Less than two years after purchasing this dryer, it stopped drying as it no longer heats up. Even by following the instructions to clean the lint tray and rinse it frequently, it still stopped working with no warning.

We want to help you with the heating/drying operation of your unit. We recommend checking the power cord, as it can be burned, broken, or loose connection at the back of the dryer. The power cord connects to a terminal block located on the rear of the unit, which is covered by a metal power cord cover. To inspect it, remove the screws holding the cover in place to access the terminal block connections. Look for any signs of damage, such as burnt, broken, frayed, or loose wires. If any of the wires or terminal connections are damaged, both the power cord and terminal block may need to be replaced. If your issue persists after troubleshooting, we recommend scheduling service with one of our Bodewell technicians by calling 1-833-426-3393 or visiting us online at: https://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.htm

The Knob

Dryer is great, except for the main control knob. Cheap plastic that breaks yearly and won’t turn the crazily-difficult-to-turn selection stick. Seriously underdesigned concept here.
