Early Ownership

I bought this dryer because it was the "step up" model from the previous dryer model from GE that is very similar but is no longer manufactured. This review is after 2 weeks of ownership and use so don't let this sway you one way or the other about purchasing this product. So far it's working well, as expected. My only concern about this unit is that they have redesigned the door of the dryer and where it opens from. Like the previous model, the door latches on the side. In the previous model, the handle for opening the door was on the side of the door near the latch mechanism. With this model, the handle to open the door is located on the top of the door instead of the side. My concern is that over time, opening the door from the top with the locking mechanism located half way down the side of the door will cause wear and tear on the door hinges because technically, the door is not opened squarely. Otherwise, I don't see why this unit won't last as long or longer than the last uni we had. The clothes seem to cool down better and have fewer wrinkles than the previous unit, even after the clothes sit in the dryer for an how after the cycle ends.

I've had my dryer for a month now and I am completely satisfied. The set up and leveling was a breeze. The dry time and options are fabulous, especially the large 7.5 cubic foot, design makes drying large loads easy.
