I don't need extras as this machine is used by just 2 people and not a family with kids. We had a power problem and had to get another machine. This is just the newer version of the old one which I liked very much. The only thing that annoys me is the number of buzzes that sound as it finishes. Two buzzes would have been enough. I know I can choose not to have any reminders.
