We have been very pleased with this dryer. Very happy with the placement of the lint catcher. Easy to clean! Important because it gets used daily.

Problems drying

No matter the setting, the clothes are never dry after one time through. It always requires a second time through the cycle, even the 80 minute cycle on highest heat.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Fluffy Towels

We bought this dryer as a set with the matching washer that replaced another GE matching pair we'd had since May 1997 (21 years, 8 months) that definitely needed replacing, as they were on their last legs.
I chose this pair because the washer had the size and features I wanted. Experts say find the washer with the features you want first, then get the matching dryer, since most dryers are pretty much the same (at least with more basic models like this one). I do like having a laundry pair that has knobs, so there is less to go wrong.
We have had this dryer for a week and I have done six loads in the dryer so far, three of which were towels. Our old dryer was 5.8 cu. ft. It did well drying. I would say this dries comparably, maybe a little gentler. What I did notice with this new bigger dryer (7.2 cu. ft.) is that the towels came out softer and fluffier than before. I was impressed with that. I don't use dryer sheets (waxy coating is not good for dryer or lint trap) but do use wool dryer balls.
I did auto-dry on all loads and walked away, so I don't yet know how long this dryer takes as compared to our old one. Probably comparable, or a bit quicker. I do like the auto-dry feature, so you don't have to guess how long to dry things.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Quick Dry

We didn't need a dryer with all the "bells and whistles". We are completely satisfied with this machine. Our old dryer took over 45 minutes to dry jeans and heavy coats. I set the dryer for 30 minutes and everything has been dry so far.
I would recommend this to a friend!
