We had a few features in mind when purchasing a new dryer after having to replace the thermostat in our very old Maytag for the 4th or 5th time in the last few years. We were not looking for anything with digital display or a water hookup. Though steaming sounds like a good feature we wanted a quick and easy installation since we were putting it in ourselves. The timer is very loud but no problem because you can adjust the volume from very loud to completely silent. It has extended tumble for most cycles but also has the option to turn that off and on. I have wanted this feature since I used a dryer in a vacation home a few years ago that had it. And lastly, the temperature control. The old Maytag was good and lasted forever but it only had one temperature: HOT. Not very easy on most clothing and a huge NO for delicates as you can imagine. It has a good variety of settings. The door latch seems secure. I was concerned about that issue after reading reviews on some dryers were the weight of the load would push the door open mid-cycle. The lint trap seems small and I will be purchasing a dryer cleaning attachment for my vacuum because keeping that clear and reducing the chance of a dryer hose fire is a concern. We did purchase a 3 year extended warranty from the store we purchased this dryer from. I'm sure there are other features like sensors that some people prefer but we were looking to avoid features that would be cumbersome and expensive to replace if they failed. I find this dryer ( so far) to be very efficient, have a good number of drying options and a clean simple design. I can update my review if I am in a position that my opinion differs later.

I love the size of this dryer. It holds so much more than my old GE dryer and is extremely quiet.
