FINALLY a washer that actually cleans

I never thought I would get emotional over a washing machine. If you are like me and are fed up with these so called high efficiency machines that do not add enough water and take forever for a cycle to finish, you will dance with joy the first time you use this one. This machine actually fills all the way up with water if I want it to. And, It has an agitator that actually moves the clothes around to clean them. Hallelujah! No matter what I am washing, everything always comes out clean and smelling fresh. There is a cycle for everything, and the delicate cycle is a true hand-wash cycle. This washer actually took out deodorant stains from shirts, that my old washer never did. I never realized how dirty my laundry was until I washed everything in this washer. AND, No Stupid Locking Lid. If I forget to add something, I can. The only time it locks is on the spin cycle. Why companies started making the lids of top load washers lock so dumb to me and I will never understand it. Its not like its a door on the front that could spill water everywhere if it was accidentally opened. Just Plain Stupid. I hope GE never stops making this model. I've even thought about buying an extra one just in case they do! If you miss the " real" washing machines before "high efficiency" was forced down our throats, this is your machine.

So far so great! Dries well and is quiet. I like that you can adjust the volume of the buzzard as with my older model I was unable to hear it.

I wish the lint trap was configured differently. You have to pull it all the way out and spin it 180 degrees to clean, which creates lint to fly everywhere. Also the lint isn't always caught by the trap. I see it come out of my dryer vent exhaust outside (new duct) and sometimes it gathers near the door. I wish we could buy the older models, especially washing machine. I dislike the matching washing. It is off-balance maybe 25% of the time, and for sure if just washing a small load, like one sheet. We are on a slab - our floor is flat and the washer "walks" all over the place.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We're very happy with our dryer. Just one complaint.. the setting knob is very quite difficult for us to turn. So big, slippery, hard to turn with arthritic hands.
