Exactly what I needed.

I wanted a simple, yet full-featured dryer to replace a GE that had worked well for us for about 20 years. The optimal drying feature works perfectly. I did find it hilarious that there is a dedicated control for the volume of the tone that plays when the unit is finished. The default setting almost gave me a heart attack when it went of and I was in the same room.

We love our dryer, Works well, dries everything well and completely we love the different settings. Easy to use even our 8 year old can load the dryer and start it alone to help out around the house.

A dryer to meet our needs

We just purchased a GE W/D set after checking out the current offerings of the various brands. We felt this dryer had all the feature combinations as well as the capacity we were looking for. The dryer is quiet and dried the towels and clothes perfectly. We like the filter at the front of the dryer as we are getting a bit older and it's not always easy to get to the back of some dryers.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Drier - One small caveat...

This drier works really well. It is quiet and does and excellent job at the price point. Although it's five stars, there is one small caveat... the central control knob is rather difficult to turn. It takes a rather robust twist to move it to the point one might think something is going to break. I don't know if this is normal, but it does work ok. Time will tell whether this will amount to anything of an issue... hopefully not. I would not hesitate to recommend it. GE makes decent products. The cabinetry seems to be of a heavier gage sheet steel than the competition. Good fit and finish. Looks nice in the laundry room.
