Great capacity and drying options

The capacity is great and it has an indoor light in the tumbler! Very quiet and like that it has an extended tumble in the cottons option. great size for my laundry room.

Works Quite Well Thus Far

Works well so far. The only feature i would change is the door latch. one has to to almost slam the door shut so that the latch is engaged. I fear this will wear out prematurely

It fits quite a bit, dries quickly, and overall works well. Would prefer the lint trap to go in easier, but otherwise I love it.

Timer knob is an issue

The timer knob is way to hard to turn. I found online this is an issue & they break. And even on the hottest setting it doesn’t get very warm.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello. We appreciate you reaching out to us, though we hate to hear you have issues with turning the timer knob and the dryer not getting very warm. We know how concerning issues like this would be, and would like to assist.
The knobs for the dryer are under part numbers WE01X24552 and WH01X24378 depending on which one you would need; if there ever is an issue with one breaking, parts for your model can be viewed here: https://www.geapplianceparts.com/store/parts/assembly/GTD42EASJ0WW .
For the issue with the dryer not getting very warm, you may want to double check that you have the correct cycle selection, fabric setting and temperature selection. Make sure the dryer is set to a dry cycle and not something like Air Fluff or Cool Down. You might also ensure the front of the dryer isn't blocked, and is getting enough air flow to allow it to dry. Finally, you may want to check the circuit breaker/fuse to make sure full power is getting to the unit - heating can be affected if the unit isn't getting adequate power.

Choosing the correct cycle, both for your load size and the type of clothing you're drying, is important. The drying time is also affected by the type of heat used (electric, natural or LP gas), how wet the clothes are and the condition of the exhaust ducts. You may want to check the exhaust on the machine to ensure there are no obstructions that may be limiting drying performance. There is a description of the various cycle options on page 5 of your manual, if you'd like to review that and determine which cycle is best to use for your load.
