Door bangs

We have to bang the door to close it. It takes a long time to dry a normal load of clothes.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Sorry to hear that your dryer is taking a long time to dry your clothing. If you have not done so already, take a look at the following article to see if it helps: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=18058
Know that the dryer door does need a bit of force to close properly. Closing it firmly is fine but we would not recommend actively slamming the door closed.

What we were looking for!

Our previous dryer was a GE and it lasted us at least 12 years... maybe longer. That's why we went with another GE. We fill that they are dependable and have longevity.
