Dryer was malfunctioning right out of the box

Dryer was malfunctioning right out of the box. I repairman came by to fix it, but who wants a dryer that's broken right out of the box. It was making a loud rubbing sound and it had to be taken apart.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My old dryer drum seized. Got a new one found out I bought the same brand. Did not even try too. GE dryer works great. Love American products.

GE is a great product. I purchased the dryer to match the washer I bought last year. The washer and dryer perform great! I would recommend both GE products.

We bought this dryer as part of a washer/dryer set about a month ago. This dryer replaced an ancient Kenmore dryer that basically had two settings timed dry and no heat air fluff. This dryer is a major upgrade for us! Finally, we had many setting combinations including a low heat and delicate option, along with an extended tumble. No more wrinkled clothes for us. This dryer has a huge capacity. I like having the lint screen at the door opening, and the door itself is high enough off of the floor for our laundry basket to fit underneath even when the door is opened. The clothes always come out dry enough, we never have to put them in for longer than the original setting. In operation it's nice and quiet, and as a bonus, the end of cycle buzzer can be set to just loud enough to be able to hear it from the living room without being too loud. We are very happy with this dryer.

Wise, timely purchase

Bought it just before Corona Virus hit, because my old unit was over 20 years old...glad I don't have to worry about a sudden breakdown. Also, the drying can be set for high temperature which gives me extra protection in these dire times.
