So far so good! Had our last GE dryer and washer 16 years. Washer died so we replaced both with GE, we trust this brand!

Dryer is not really drying

Need to run machine 2x in order for towels to really come out dry. Wish I saw in person before ordering. Other than that it’s ok.

You may want to check the ducting to ensure it’s not obstructed, and the fuses/circuit breakers to ensure adequate power is reaching the machine. Additional troubleshooting tips are available on page 10 of the manual, linked here: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-90543-2.pdf&_ga=2.89245086.406509458.1643037112-1532666414.1643037112 . Large capacity with just enough features that you need. Love the large vent flange made it easy to clamp.

Fulfills Our Requirements

The GTD42GASJWW is our second GE gas dryer but a slight upgrade to our previous 5 year old machine. Our earlier one developed a wiring harness problem with door switch. Repairs were too costly. So we bought this one that matches our washer. Four stars out of five because of the previous problem with the older dryer. Our local major appliance dealer promoted this dryer. We will see, time will tell us.
