Love GE

I had a older GE and loved it. It was over 15 yrs old and finally gave out. This one is perfect! Same features as old but with extended tumble. Thank you so much for keeping the light when opening dryer door. A lot of my friends have purchased other brands and complain about missing that feature. Only small complaint I have is, I have to really push door closed. Maybe as time goes on it will loosen up.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Needed Service the first day I used it

The drier is ok. I have the Gas version. As soon as first load was in this thing was making an insanely loud, whining noise. Like a turbine spinning up. You could stand outside the house and hear it. Took two weeks to get a service appointment and GE's "online scheduling" does not work. It will just tell the serial/model numbers do not exist in the database. That means calling GR and losing an hour of your life trying to get through to an actual human.
I moved and this is apparently beyond the IT capabilities of General Electric. I was told my old address could not be changed or deleted. So everytime I call it tells me the wrong address and appliances. I guess I am the first person to EVER move AND own GE appliances. It is a joke.
The tech came out, the drier was assembled at the factory incorrectly. The brackets holding the gas tube (where the flame ignites) was not bolted in correctly, so it vibrated and made that terrible sound. He also explained that GE eliminated the back brackets (gotta save .30 cents a unit!) for the tube so he expects it to come loose again. Way to go GE, you saved .30 cents to build now you pay 1000X to send the tech out under warranty to fix it.
It dried fine but is still way loud, even after repair. I don't get it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

So far this dryer works as it should had a little issue installing, tight spaces in a mobile home!
Has to buy a new gas line for it cause my other one the gas connection was on the opposite side!
