Nice but not powerful

This dryer had the right price but doesn't dry well consistently. Less than 90 days d and I often have to run the dryer cycle twice. Initially, I realized it was on the wrong setting but once I adjusted it, it didn't improve much. I would say no to a 2nd purchase. It is easy to use but not the best!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Replaced 30 year old dryer with new GE unit

The basic build and functionality appears solid. We have used the new unit for about 2 months now. Some concerns. The main selection knob is stiff to turn and does not feel particularly sturdy. The door was hard to open and close and the metal latch that holds the dryer door shut broke off after the third time it was opened and closed. I replaced it with a machine bolt filed down to mimic the latches shape. This should hold up much better that the thin original latch. The unit does not dry as quickly as the one it replaced. I expect this has to do with the modern energy saver design vs the much older unit we previously had. Overall with what was available in this price range I am satisfied.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This dryer is a bit noisier than my previous one but also seems to do a better job drying. The lint filter is right in front and easily accessible.

I should have gone with another Maytag.

Dryer doesn't get hot enough, especially when using the 0-80 minute setting. If the automatic setting is chosen, the dryer runs for hours, even after the clothes are well dried.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
