SA5 - tremendous

I bought an SA 5 to upgrade from my SA3. Easy hook up to my existing outdoor set up of Free Space 51s. App is great, sound is awesome recommend highly.

I bought the Bose SoundTouch 10 for my wife's office. I loved the sound so much I bought the Bose SoundTouch 20 for our kitchen. Now I wanted to integrate my whole house speaker system with SoundTouch system. I bought the SA-5 amplifiers to hook up our Family Room, Living Room and Master Bedroom ceiling speakers. Now we can have our old wired ceiling speakers working with the other Bose SoundTouch speakers. I had a old OSD Amp before which produced great sound but the SA-5s some how made our old speakers sound just a little bit better. My wife love how easy it is now to play her music throughout the house using Bose SoundTouch app on her iPhone, iPad or Mac.
I only have one problem with the system, I would love to use the Aux input on the SA-5 and be able to send it to my other Bose SoundTouch 10 or 20 speaker. I was told when I bought the SA-5 by the salesman that Bose is working on a software patch to fix the Aux in issue. Bose please do, then this would be a perfect amp

Great option to enable streaming to wired speakers

One “enhancement” I would expect in the future from the Bose engineers is the ability to run the A speakers and B speakers individually from the amp…like a receiver would. In most cases it probably doesn’t matter that the two sets of speakers have sound at the same time, but in my case I have a set of speakers in my family room and a set of speakers outside on the deck. My family room speakers are the “A” speakers and the outside speakers are the “B” speakers and both sets would be always on. As to not blow the neighbors away, I came up with a low tech solution that works just fine. I bought an old school A/B switch and this enables me to run A (inside), B (outside) or both together. Ideally this would be achievable through the SA-5 amp or the Bose SoundTouch amp.

Great for the backyard

If you are looking for a sound system for your back yard that can be controlled through your smart phone via WiFi. This is the one you’ve been looking for. The Bose Sound Touch SA5 with Bose 251 (2) & Bose 51 Landscape (2) speakers has more volume than you will ever need and has a crisp clear sound that will impress. I have the SA5 Amplifier in my house with speaker wires routed to the back yard. With my WiFi signal I can easily control the system with my iPhone from anywhere in my backyard. And no ther is no binging, or interruptions with phone calls, emails or text messages. 100% Satisfied with the Bose SA5!!!

Software could make this soon much better

I currently have 10 Sa-3 amps on an old lifestyle 38. They work great. I stream through my computer and cell phone and have had a very nice experience. I bought an SA_5 with the thought of converting my system to all SA-5s. The amp is nice and concept good. Easy to set up.
The software could be better:
1. There should be better bass, treble, balance control.
2. There should be independent control of speakers A/B
3. There should be rebroadcast capabilities
4. There should be surround sound capacity for fixed in wall speakers.

I have a total of 16 ceiling speakers in 5 rooms and 4 outdoor speakers. I would love it if they could give me more flexibility. Niles systems have a nice product but I don't feel their iPhone app is as easy to use as Bose.
Make these changes and I will buy 5 more SA-5s and put speakers in my other 6 rooms.

I have been wanting to update my whole house speaker system I have 10 SA-3 amps running off an old Lifestyle system. I recently added my first SA-5. It was up and going in minutes. The longest part was stripping the new wires which took 5 minutes. The software with the wireless features is ideal. It has to be dirt simply to keep my wife happy and sophisticated to keep me happy. It accomplishes both. I am able to put Pandora through our house with multiple zone control. I am able to use my library on my Mac, my McIntosh digital server through the addressable inputs. I am a happy camper. Easy, easy, efficient, powers four speakers without a problem and my wife is happy, whew

I bought this product 3 weeks ago!, super easy to install very straight forward. Your music everywhere, always connected without wires. I have a pair of Bose 251 before. They work perfectly. The sound is flawless at living room or your patio, your favorite spot it will be awesome with your music, you can connect all the devices that you want at the same time, computer, laptop, tablet... Five stars product!. our money worth.

After using this amplifier for slightly over a month, here are my pros and cons:

- small footprint
- stays cool even when driven hard
- great idea, ideal for a secondary amplifier for additional room or porch, not as the main amplifier.
