Bad base

I wish I had read these other reviews before I bought this blender, I have had the same problem with the base. It cracked and broke and now the blender is useless to me.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Plastic Jar Base Cracked, First Use!

I purchased this blender two months ago, I have used the personal smoothie jar with much success, however, my experience was awful when I used the full jar. The plastic jar base that "hold" the jar cracked on speed 1. Leaks and spillage everywhere, not too mention the plastic exploded everywhere. Glad my children were not in the kitchen when this happened! I will never purchase another B&D blender again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Cracked Base Compromises Othe wise Fine Product

The functionality of the unit is fine, but the plastic base of the pitcher cracked and there don't seem to be any replacement parts available. Because of the leakage the blender is now useless.

Same issue as everyone else: the plastic base broke. I've had the blender since last Christmas, to give an idea of how long it lasted. Love the blender otherwise. It really needs a sturdier base though! Looking for replacement parts...

Plastic base broke when My CEO used it for his morning smoothie :/ Chocolate smoothie everywhere! Looking for a replacement part and found this...I love Black and Decker products, this is the only time I have seen an issue like this. I think a more durable plastic should be used.

Poor base.

Wife had her smoothie spill all over the kitchen because of a crack on the base of the cup. Not a great experience, thinking I was paying good money for a good product I ended up with my wife wondering why I bought it.
