Same as everyone else, I need to buy the replacement for the base blade after mine cracked.

Blends great until plastic ring breaks

I have had this blender for about a year. Blends superbly and I love the personal smoothie travel cup. Unfortunately, the plastic ring base on the large glass jar broke which renders it useless. I thought perhaps I had over-tightened the ring but I see this is a common flaw with this design. That ring needs to be redesigned with a higher strength plastic or glass.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Plastic base issue

I have loved this blender since I first bought it...until the plastic base cracked. I have tried supergluing it, but want to find out where to get a replacement part...I have searched all the typical vendors and can't find it. It seems that this is a common issue so perhaps providing customers a link to available replacement parts would be helpful as would future production with a stronger plastic. I know I did not overtighten it because I have limited hand strength due to nerve damage.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Buy with redesigned jar base

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this blender and after a couple of uses the clear (transparent) big jar base cracked we repaired it with crazy glue, and used mainly the smoothie jar. We contacted spectrum brands and asked for a replacement part (they were very helpful and nice) Since they were redesigning the part it took 2 months to arrive, the new base jar is black has a rubbery feel to it (different material from the clear one) and is working well. Be sure your blender has the new redesigned jar base. The blender is wonderful not only for smoothies our teenagers love it very easy to use.. we give it a 5 star with the new black jar base!
I would recommend this to a friend!
