Very Poor Lighting

Had I seen this refrig. plugged in and running prior to purchase, the very poor refrig. lighting would have been enough for me not to make the purchase. I am also disappointed that there isn't a designated meat drawer like was in an earlier model that I was replacing.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Beautiful and sleek, with easy to open doors and ample shelf room. The only reason I’m giving it a 4 instead of a 5 is because my freezer shelves were missing upon delivery (but GE is sending them to me at no charge.

Good space for the size

I had the old version of the same refrigerator as it was the only one that fit in the space that I have. I hated the old version as the drawers in the refrigerator portion took up so much room, I had no room for anything else. While I miss the cheese/cold it drawer from an organizational standpoint, I don’t miss the room that it took up. I put a rectangular basket I had to organize and it works perfectly. The freezer compartment maximizes the available space well. I can’t speak to the water supply hookup as I had a problem with this … but that is more the result of an old house and poor turnoff capability than a comment about this feature.

Working good so far

We brought our previous GE side-by-side fridge with us from our previous house 20 years ago. Other than the icemaker and water supply, it has been trouble free. A year ago it started making more noise than usual, and we started looking for a new one. We got this one because it was a counter-depth unit. it's not a lot smaller than the old one, but fits the space a little bit better. Makes a few little odd noises, but it seems to be working great so far. We wish the door bins had some dividers for better organizing.
