Extremely noisy

The noise is sometimes a constant buzzing and very annoying. Certainly not very spacious, but this is the limitation I had to work with in a small kitchen space. Appearance is sleek and so far it is functioning properly. One exception is the ice maker works constantly, so it has to be turned off or it will overflow the space. Then you have to remember to turn it on again when supply is running low. A pain!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

i bought this to match other GE appliances and wanted a counter-depth. this fit the bill. the lighting inside the frig section is poor - only at the top, which makes it difficult to see anything on any but the top two shelves. i put a stick-on light on the bottom shelf to remedy, but was surprised that GE didn't put more lighting in. the water filter is much easier to change than my older model frig.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great in every respect except two

This is a wonderful refrigerator. There are only two things I don't like: (1) the ice-water contraption on the left door. I do not like ice water, which every health expert says is unhealthy to drink. Only in the U.S. do people drink ice water. Europeans and others think we are crazy to drink it. I have scotch-taped a photo of a lovely green wooded area over the ice-water rectangle on the left door. (2) the door handles, which stick out from the surface of the refrigerator and which I sometimes bump into. My previous GE refrigerator did not have these. Customers should be consulted when refrigerators are being designed.

Great Except...

Works ok except for the ice maker. It isn't reliable. Something in the switch isn't tight. If it quits, I fiddle with the on/off and the full flapper to start it again. I tried to use your website for help, to no avail.

We tried to return this fridge at Lowe's to get another GE Fridge that wasn't so noisy. I love the Slate. It's much better than Stainless Steel. We will buy another GE fridge just not this particular one.

GE Reliability Has Been Very Good

This unit replaced a GE Artica that lasted 16 years. Hoping for the same lifetime for this model. Pros: Temperature controls on outside. Dispenser works well. Cons: no deli drawer. We reused (kludged) the one from the old frig. Interior lighting is not as good as old model: hard to see items on lower shelves.
