LOVE IT!!

I am very happy that I purchased this. I cut the cable cord years ago and Roku has many free channels for everyone. It also streams pretty fast when I use Netflix and Hulu. I would recommend the Roku to everyone and it is worth the money.

Ease of use andoperation

We are first time users of the Roku 2 and could not be happier with the device. Had been using a DVD player over the past few years, and there is just no comparison. It is so easy to use and offers so much more for us to see.

I bought this because you can either go wireless or hook it up with a hard line. I have noticed with this unit & the Roku stick that the remote control becomes unresponsive at times. Love the assortment of all the channels & the ease of setup.

Roku works great; some of the apps need work

Installing the Roku hardware and using its own software is a piece of cake - love it. Some of the Roku apps, however, need work. Usually it's the little things that are less than perfect - Hulu doesn't put my Queue front-and-center, YouTube doesn't support the Roku phone app's keyboard for searching, etc. And this is the exception rather than the rule; most of the ones I've used are great. I switched to Roku from Chromecast, mostly for the larger selection of supported apps, and I sometimes miss being able to skip keypad navigation and use my phone for things like searching or scrolling a long list - I'm looking forward to more apps supporting casting to Roku from my phone (Netflix does now, as does YouTube, which I learned only after what I mention above). I know one of Roku's main selling points is how many 'channels' they have, and they wouldn't want to jeopardize that, but they might consider leaning on their partners to improve their user experience.

Outstanding Device

The Roku 2 system is heads and shoulders above the Google Chromecast streaming stick. The Roku system is easy to use. It has so many channels that it can satisfy anyone the most finicky TV viewer. Additionally, it has a remote that makes easy to navigate through all the channels and select what you want to see.

We chose the Roku especially for the highly-rated Search feature, and have not been disappointed. The speed of the device is also appreciated. We're still learning to manage the very zippy fast-forward and rewind features. We had a Roku device several years ago with which we were very pleased. For that reason we checked online reviews of Roku devices compared to the similar Apple product. We chose the Roku based on our previous experience as well as the Search feature. We are very pleased to have purchased the Roku 2.
