I bought the ROKU 2 to get access to streaming video. eventually we will have to drop cable TV. This box is terrific.

As a further step toward cutting the cable this gizmo can't be beat especially as mine was free with my Sling TV registration. I particularly like the positive feedback- a beep- when using the remote.

The unit worked fine, but I decided to return it for refund because it wasn't what I thought it was going to be like.... I was hoping for something more or less to replace my need for Direct TV or Dish television service, but found I really didn't care for it as a replacement of either of them. So dang I've got to keep tuned with Dish services and that is not totally desirable as well ~ but being in the boondocks without any possible normal TV reception or cable service DISH is what I am stuck with.

Tha whole idea of investing on a Roku device was to dump my cable TV provider and just to found out that Roku in order to steam some channels you have to be be backed up by a cable TV provider SO CAN ANYONE OUT THERE TELL ME WHAT'S THE WHOLE POINT OF GETTING THIS DEVICE WHEN YOU'RE STILL HAVE TO BE HOOKED UP WITH A CABLE COMPANY,WHAT'S THE POINT OF HAVING THIS DEVICE ?
