Roku a must have!

I've used a Roku 2 since December 2012. YouTube, Netflix, and Amazon runs better on Roku than my Vizio smart TV. My Roku has been freezing up the last several months so I decided to get a new Roku 2. I love the new design and short cut on the new remote; however, I do miss the bluetooth feature where I don't have to point the remote to the Roku device.
I recently added SlingTV to Roku2 and really love it! The navigation is much better than cable. I plan to purchase the Roku Stick for travelling.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Very limited content on free choices but mostly needing paid subscriptions. Misleading.

I got rid of Dish & haven't looked back. I bought the Spectrum TV channel and it has everything I want.

Bad experience with TWO Roku 2's

I bought one for myself for Christmas. It had a shortage or something because I would have to find a certain spot where the picture would stop flickering. Also, everytime i turned it back on from the screensaver, i could only hear sound, but the picture would be purple & it would say "unauthorized". EVERYTIME! I would have to unplug it & plug it back up for it to work. I bought another one this month. I got the unauthorized purple screen a couple of times so far, but i dont have to unplug it for it to work again. But this one also acts like it has a shortage in it. UGH!!!!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Sling came loaded already that was nice easy sign on for Hulu. At times reception seems to lag but overall great

Roku 2 -- Superb for HD

First, this may be a review that Roku does not like. I had a 3 year old Roku XS that started acting up in late 2015, at that time I didn't know if it was the Roku or the router. I replaced the router with a newer one and there seemed to be an improvement but I was still getting the message "loading" in the middle of streaming programs. Tested Roku speeds showed on average downloads about 6 Mbits/sec. That should be sufficient for video streaming.
I was frustrated by the continual "loading" messages and purchased a ROKU 2. Now download speeds are in the 25 Mbits/sec range and everything is working. But why did the ROKU XS start to fail after about 3 years?
I should note that I have two Rokus, one on Verizon FiOS and the problematic one on Optimum.
