I bought the Roku 2 a couple of weeks ago and it works great (so much better than the roku stick I bought several months ago). I think the "light" on the Roku 2 is too bright at night.

Great Access to Movies/Shows

I had my Roku 2 several weeks before I actually set it up. Was afraid it would be a daunting project, but turned out to be extremely simple! I'm slowly building my library of channels and love the ability to watch movies and shows whenever I want.
I would recommend this to a friend!

We've had the Chromecast (which we do not recommend) then we got the firestick (which we also do not recommend) we ended up with the Roku original which we loved! Then Got the roku 2 for free when we prepaid 3 months of Singtv. It works great but, getting it to connect and stay connected to our wifi for the first time was very frustrating! Now though it works great!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Glad to be off cable

I suggest roku because direct tv is a money waster.
We've cut down watching tv in general since getting the roku and it's made going to the gym a whole lot easier not having trash tv so accessible (which was the whole point of getting rid of cable in the first place).

Where is the Audio Out

It works just fine, but I cannot put into my audio system without a digital audio out ( like Apple TV has ).

I bought this product to be able to stream sling from dish. We were using our Xbox or smart tv for netflix or other apps. In order to use netflix on our Xbox we had to pay for live. It seemed unnecessary to pay for that, while paying for netflix. The roku was very affordable and is very user friendly. It offers a lot of apps. Some free. Some you have to pay for. I love the capabilities and wouldn't go back to any other way of watching my apps.

Even "old" models rock!

We chose another Roku 2 instead of one of the newer models because it does not have the earphone jack in the remote--don't want the kids to be able to watch movies all night w/o getting caught!
Roku is easy to use/set up. Has a boat load of options & channels, both public and private. We paired up the Roku & Plex to have all of our home theatre material (dvds, music, photos) readily available whenever/wherever we have the Roku. No more digging through storage to find a movie we already have. And the selection for "radio" stations and tv shows just keeps getting better and better!
I would recommend this to a friend!
