So simple to stream

I have had my Roku for a couple of weeks now and I love it. It was easy to set up and it is easy to navigate! I'm about to get a Roku Stick for the bedroom I love it so much! Great picture quality, also! The only bad thing I have noticed is it will freeze (not often at all) or it will take a few seconds to register my button pushing. Also worth noting, I love using the app to type long things out on my phone versus trying to type from the remote.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought the Roku 2 a couple weeks ago (I was actually looking to purchase Roku 1 but they were out of stock). I'm actually glad it worked out this way. My shows on Netflix and Hulu aren't constantly refreshing. It's nice to be able to enjoy these streaming services on my TV. It's fast and easy to use, and allows me to have all of my streaming services and more all on my TV. The setup was very easy. I highly recommend the Roku 2.

Great for Internet Streaming, Not Local.

This is packed full of internet streaming features however lacks the ability to decode DD and DTS audio from local media streams.. I bought this to plug into the kids TV so they could use SlingTV as well as stream media from my local media server only to find that the Roku only passes through audio from local media streams. The kids TV is not capable of decoding DD or DTS so none of my local media server files have any audio on there TV. It's back to using the BluRay player for local media I guess. Really sad that such a touted player would be missing such basic functionality!

Works great when the wireless stream is picked up

The Roku 2 works great when the wireless streaming signal form my router is picked up. However, my tv and Roku 2 are at the opposite end of the house from the router, and this tends to cause some unwanted buffering. If the size of the Roku 2's antenna could be made larger or more powerful, like the one in a laptop, it would solve it's only issue. Overall, it's a great product, that's simple to use.

Way better than Amazon Fire Stick

Bought the product a few weeks ago after having the Amazon Fire stick for a while. Although the stick worked ok, I was unhappy with the speed between apps and how I would get kicked out of apps. the Roku 2 fixed everything, way better connection, smooth streaming and no app problems. I am sure a box is better than the sticks but it is well worth the difference in price. And Roku has an easy but also thorough setup so it isn't loaded with apps you don't want or need. Probably going to buy another to replace my Apple TV. Got to have my sling tv.
