The best thing I can say about this is how easy the Android app makes the remote control work. With the included remote, I have to have a direct line to the Roku player, and that takes multiple attempts at times. With the phone app, there is NO direct line of sight needed, and that little difference makes me not use the included remote much. Other than that, I patiently wait for the HBO streaming to be added, and enjoy the Roku so far.

Well worth it

We've only had the Roku 2 for a couple of weeks but we're loving it and already planning on dropping cable. It's very easy to set up and use. My only grumble would be the slowness of using the remote control to type for searching. Other than that, it's great.

I own an AppleTV device and it is good. However, I have a Roku and a Roku 2 and these are hands down better! With Roku, you can add thousands of channels.

Excellent device, poorly designed remote control

I have no complaints whatsoever about the Roku 2 4210R. Same goes for the Roku 3, which is the same device but different remote control. Both are fast and a joy to use. The remotes for both, however, are poorly designed. The Roku 2 remote would be excellent if it didn't have to be pointed straight at the Roku to work. Tilt it a bit up or down, and it doesn't work. Also, including the button for Sling is ridiculous, since it's a very new service that most people don't have and it's not a great service anyway. It should have the Hulu+ button, like the Roku 3 has. The Roku 3 remote, while it doesn't have the transmission problem the other has, is basically the old Roku remote, which has the OK button below the cursor keys, and it's just awkward to use. It's even worse than the older remote, since the cursor keys have to be pressed more, making your finger touch the remote casing.

I bought a Roku 2 mainly to watch Netflix but was very pleased to find a lot of free content that was actually worth watching. The menu system and search features are both easy to use and fast. Considering buy a Roku stick now for a second TV.

I bought the Roku for streaming a few channels that I could only access on the PC or this device.
The Roku2 is way too locked down. Users should be able to set their own network connectivity.
There is no quality control on the Roku. I'm not saying they should be responsible for the channels but their should be a minimal streaming quality check before allowing the channel on their hardware. So many channels stream poorly despite strong user bandwidth capability.
Overall it works ok.

We have owned ROKU 2 for a week now. Love it. I wish when watching it would continue to an auto play instead of asking if your still watching. You want to save money from cable cut the cord. Get ROKU!!
