So far, so good

I received my Roku 2 as part of the Sling TV promotion, two weeks ago. I wasn’t thrilled that it appeared that I was required to add a credit card when setting up a new Roku account. I later found out you are not. I must have missed the small type that gives you that option.
At first I had difficulty connecting to my wifi network, so I moved my device and the connection was achieved. The remaining set up was easy. The remote control device requires a fairly precise line-of-sight angle to work properly. Had a bit of a problem with the TV setting, as I had to play around with it to get it to set at 1080p instead of the default 720p. Not sure if it’s Sling TV or this device but the picture on my HDTV doesn’t seems a bright as my cable signal. I checked and there is no way to change contrast or brightness on the roku. I haven’t cut the cord just yet.

Got it to replace my Roku XD and love it so much more. Apps run better, streaming quality is great. Really happy!

Have both the Roku 1 and 2 and the 2 is so much faster. May have to upgrade the 1 to a 2.

Buggy controller

It works well most of the time but occasionally will not respond to signals from the controller, I have to unplug the power source and replug it to get it working properly again,

A great product. Easy setup and very responsive. Commands from the remote are almost instantly, a great improvement over my Roku LT.
