I bought it to save money on satellite tv. For the number of channels I watch anyway (mostly my 2 sons watch their Disney, CN and Nick, I rarely watch tv), I signed up for Sling TV and that satisfy my tv needs. I don't record shows, and the tv through Sling comes in high def so overall I think I made the right decision. There is one channel that is still on the list of available channels that does not work, it's the channel itself, American Cartoon Classics. Their parent company seemed to have gone out of business but Roku has not removed it from their lineup. The rest of the channels that I have downloaded work great and there is a lot of variety.

Great overall player

I purchased a Roku even though I am an apple owner. Apple TV doesn't stream from Amazon and we watch quite a few things with our prime membership. We found the player to work well and be easy to set up and use. Lots of ability to customize the player and add different streaming services. Very NICE we like it a lot.

I bought the Roku 2 about 2 months ago. It is small in size but big in features. Easy to select channels, downstreaming, and is quality engineered.

Lots of choices

I love the choices it gives me, but two problems: 1. It won't work on the TV I would most like it to work on, and 2. The remote often doesn't respond to my commands. I have to push it multiple times to get it to do what I want.

I have two players one in the living room and one in the bedroom. both work great and there is so much programming it is unreal even more than is available with the cable which I no longer have.

I purchased the Roku 2 over the stick, both are great but I preferred the compact console, this whole package is completely awesome, probably one of the best purchases I have made in a good while, you wont go wrong with this purchase!
