I received this new Roku as part of an incentive when subscribing to Sling streaming TV.
I already had one Roku2 and was sent a second, updated version. It has some shortcut buttons ( Sling, Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime.
They have also added a "previous channel" button!
Set up was a breeze. I only wish that accounts would already be logged in to as they are on all other devices in the home.

Easy to use, but viewing choices are limited & old

I am pretty sure we will not continue using this service. The viewing choices are nothing but old tv shows or movies. It's not worth the monthly fee to us.

I got this device because I wanted to subscribe to Sling TV. My blue ray DVD player didn't support Sling. It works well watching Netflix and Amazon, among many other channels you can add. The only drawback I've had is that live sports streaming is interrupted a lot, but it's really because of my broadband speed. All in all, I'd recommend it if you don't already have a device you can stream with.

It's nice to have but every time I switch input on tv, the roku will not display. I have to go into settings on roku and change the display resolution for it to display again.

I bought this a few days ago. I won't connect via wi-fi, even though my old Roku 2 connects fine, and my 2 laptops connect fine. I finally hard wired it to my modem/router, and it works that way. The remote is not good. It's dull instead of shiny, and the writing on the buttons is dull. This means that in a darkish room, you can't see the buttons or what's written on them. Shiny remotes with white lettering reflect the light a lot better. It is faster than the old Roku 2, but not worth buying the new one, if your old one still works. Also, Netflix has a new interface on the new Roku 2, different from the one on my old Roku 2. The new Netflix interface is horrible, absolutely horrible to the point of being irritating and interfering with watching programming. I recommend getting the old Roku 2, unless you really need the speed of the faster processor. This new version offers nothing else.

I bought it to watch a series I missed on TV. And for that reason alone. Since then I've explored a few other movies. My one complaint is this. I bought it at Radio Shack and the sales person said you plug it in and go. Wrong. There's a complex set up process that I wasn't aware of, to register the device. It also wasn't as user friendly as I thought and I had to call Amazon to figure out how to retrieve a movie I bought. But I'm learning. I just wished the person didn't say just plug in and go.
