returned to store, no AVI support

bought it to stream online content and home movies. the wireless worked fine but no support for AVI file format, had to return it for a different vendor device. gave up support for APPs just for the simple ubiquitous AVI format. And the Media Player APP should be standard and first class citizen. I had to go online to figure out how to play a file from my NAS.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I own 2 Roku 3s, but purchased a new Roku 2 as I read it is supposed to be as fast as the Roku 3. That doesn't seem to be the case. It just feels slower. Additionally, the new remote is horrendous. You really have to press the rubber-coated keys hard for the remote to register the click. I won't be purchasing any more Roku 2s.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Roku 2 actually exceeded my expectations; however, I would have liked to have access to live News and Sports events, especially soccer and football.

Great Value!

This is my first roku. It seemed like the best value having the same processor as the roku 3 and I did have a need for voice search or a gaming remote. I couldn't be happier with it. I just got rid of dish and am getting most of the channels I watched before at half the price.

I was skeptical at first, but with the price of the Roku 2, I figured had nothing to loose really. I am so glad I did, prior I would have to hook my hdmi cable from the back of my sound bar to the computer so running this cable across the room was a pain sometimes with the cable I found buffering would happen as well. now I have only been using for a week or so but stream amazon prime shows a lot and have not seen any buffering and the clarity is outstanding as well. The setup went smooth and easy. Only reason I gave 4 out of 5 stars is the range of the remote. I am about 10 feet from LOS of the roku device and its hit or miss at that distance. other then that its flawless.
I would recommend this to a friend!
