Improved Speed, Poor Remote

We've used the older Roku boxes now for a few years, and absolutely love them. The Roku 2 has a noticeably faster processor, but for whatever reason the new remote is a huge step in the wrong direction.
I'm not sure if the signal output of the remote has changed, or if the signal receiving end on the box is different, but we're having a very difficult time getting the remote to function so that tasks can be executed with a single click. The end result is usually someone waiving the remove in the air while clicking a button constantly.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Easy to use and install

I upgraded my Roku to the new Roku 2. I love it! My only complaint is with Hulu Plus not always streaming correctly.

Roku 2 (newest version) over Roku streaming stick

I had the streaming stick and it just had way to issues and actually it crapped out all together. Returned to where I bought it and decided on the Roku 2. It works a ton better then the stick. Now I do miss the wireless remote, the Roku 2 comes with the basic infrared remote which has its fair share of problems, but being you can still use your phone or tablet to control it, it doesn't make as much difference to me. All and all it is an awesome streaming type of product, over the Cromcast or Apple TV or any other (not familiar with the Fire Stick).

This is one fine player at an excellent price. It is fast, reliable (so far) and very easy to set up and use. If you don't need earphones, voice search, rf remote nor game control you have found a product that is hard to beat. My one niggle with it is the absence of an optical connector. With my TV and receiver combo (the receiver being an oldie but goodie Yamaha, I can get stereo but not Dolby surround. I could get Dolby with the Western Digital player this replaced. Otherwise the WD was a nightmare to operate.

Great Device

I purchased the Roku after my PS3 died. I love this little unit. It compliments my audio video setup perfectly. The only issue I have is that I need to re-encode all my avi's into mp4 which is a big pain!
