What an amazing little gem!

My husband and I decided to cut the cable cord after a lot of debate. I did my research and decided we would benefit best from a Roku 2. We ordered two of them because we have two TVs. WOW! They are super easy to install and don't take up much space. There is no on/off button, but the Roku doesn't need one. It sleeps after inactivity and stays available in case of system updates. You can add whatever channels you like from the pick list (very extensive) and from private channels that you can add with codes. We have a Mohu Leaf 50 antenna, a Roku 2, and a Tivo Roamio set up, and so far, it's working pretty well for us. You need a Roku for each tv in your house, but with those Rokus, you can access the same channel selection on your Roku account. We are using Netflix, Hulu Plus, and Sling TV for a lot of our TV watching as well as OTA TV. There are some limitations with some of the software and other hardware (Hulu Plus and Sling TV only allow one screen to be used at a time, which stinks, and Tivo Roamio has to have a Tivo Mini in order to have DVR access on both TVs; Tivo charges a monthly fee as well). However, the Roku 2 is phenomenal! :)

This was a snap. Hardest part was entering the bazillion character password to my home wifi. :) The thing linked to my network, asked what channels I wanted, linked to some existing accounts and BAM! Binge watching!

Nice player in Roku 2

I already own a Roku 1 player. I bought the Roku 2 to use in another room. The only real difference I see from the Roku 1 to Rock 2 is that the Roku 2 is much faster. The only drawback from the Roku 1 is that it only has an HDMI output where the Roku 1 has both an HDMI and composite outputs for older TV's.

Great cable supplement

I purchased this a few weeks back as a means of cutting down my cable bill. I find my self watching less and less cable and more online streaming based applications like Netflix. The roku 2 has more than enough free channels and subscription options to allow me to tailor the entertainment I want to watch to my specific tastes and preferences. I am very pleased so far.
