The problem isn't with the roku its with the cable companies. You need cable to watch most of the channels. Netflix, Amazon, and others just require a membership. It is the best method of watching TV I have had though.

Upgraded from Roku stick (which had trouble connecting and streaming) and this is MUCH better. Highly recommended.

I really like the Roku 2. I would only recommend 1 update, play more codec types from a drive connected to the usb port.

I like the roku better than other streaming devices due to the amout of content that is available. What I don't like is that these devices tend to die for no good reason after about two years and the manufacturer's solution is to buy a new one. It's unfortunate that our electronic devices have such a short shelf life and the manufacturers are not looking for solutions to that problem. Unfortunately I was lazy and just bought a new one but research the shelf life of other products and be aware of this problem.

The Roku 2 is not subject to the periodic "mini-crashes" of my Roku Stick. Wide variety of channels (Acorn is my favorite) and easy to set up and use.
