A bit left out if you're not in the US

I read great reviews on the Roku, so i decided to buy it. However, I live outside the US, so a majority of the good apps and their movies, videos and radio channels are not available outside the US. There are different ways to get a US based ip-address and still enjoy full content, but it is not easily done for a non-tech person. All in all not bad, but the support for users outside the US should be better to get more than a 3 star rating from me.
I would recommend this to a friend!

My Second Roku

This is my second Roku player. The new version is better than I thought it would be. Easy to set up. Very easy to connect with my old accounts. Even kept my old watch lists.

Don't pay for cable and buy a Roku!!

We quit paying for cable after using Roku. There is always something great to watch and so many channels to choose from.

Very nearly perfect smart tv player

I purchased the Roku 2 primarily to stream Netflix and Amazon video through my projector. The resolution of Amazon video is actually better through the Roku than through a laptop (reportedly because of stricter copy protection available). This player would be perfect if it could play MPEG2 files, which is the format of the files when I use my computer as a DVR for broadcast HDTV. Because of only playing h264 files through the media player it isn't quite a complete replacement for my old LG smart tv player, but other than that possibly nit-picky complaint it seems to be a nearly perfect streaming player (certainly much better in every other aspect than the old LG player).

I needed to let go of my cable because it had gotten too expensive. I needed an alternative. I had been researching streaming devices. The first choice was a disappointment and Roku was the second choice. I am soooo impressed. It is easy to set up and easy to use. I love it...
