After having streaming issues with my Blu-Ray player I purchased a Roku 2 device! I have been consistently happy with it! Flawless streaming with no re-buffering or glitches. Well worth the money!!

Remote Control is the biggest issue

The channel watching is fine, but the included remote is line-of-sight only which means you can't hide the Roku behind the TV unless you install the Roku app on your smart phone & use the Wifi network for hidden access, which can be a pain in itself if the phone's in use for something else. Also there's no ear phone jack n the remote. Another con is that if you setup the clock as 24 hour, the clock screensaver remains 12 hour.

Love roku but find it disappointing how many apps are charging. If more continue to charge the monthly bill could be comparable to cable/satellite. Owned roku since the beginning but see it changing.

Speedy, Reliable (new) Roku 2 - Just what I needed

I mainly bought this Roku 2 for it new hardware and speed. I have an older TV set, so I needed a HDMI to RCA adapter to connect it. Initially, the picture varied from the middle of the TV screen to full screen black/white to finally full screen color (after rebooting). Another concern was network connectivity (which was inconsistent with the 2 XS that this new Roku replaced). With the new Roku 2, no problem connecting to the network at all - and so far, no disconnects from my home network (which also plagued my 2 XS). I noticed the speed up in the screen GUI interface as well. I added a micro-SD card to it, but I never saw a reference to it on any of the Roku 2 system menus. I presumed that it configured it in the background and is using it.
If you have not surmised already, I am quite please with my new Roku 2. I am happy the ethernet option is available (which I use) as well. I neither play games on the very much nor engage in headphone listening with my Roku devices, so the additional related features of the Roku 3 were not as crucial to me and I was able to pay a bill with the resulting savings.
