Not the same as the old roku 2

This is our third roku 2. The first two we love, they have the earphones jack and the remote that doesn't need direct visual contact. The newest one came with dead batteries and the preview screen covers most of the display where as the other two you can very more of what is available to view.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Best streaming device overall

I have tried Chromecast and the Amazon Fire Stick and the Roku 2 is the BEST of them all. The Chromecast is pretty awesome, but has no Amazon Prime support. The Fire Stick has Prime support, but many of the apps are buggy and don't work (Vevo app won't sync playlists). The Roku 2 has the most channels and I haven't had a single problem with it. It streams beautifully!

So far we love this - the search works great and very easy to use. However, wish there were an off button so it was not always running@

Helps with cutting the cable / satelite bill

I bought this for my Mom as a way for her to watch movies. Cable was getting too expensive on their fixed income, and Dad had cut cable more, which left not that many movies for Mom to watch. She watches Netflix on it. The only "bad" thing about it is that she thought she would be watching a movie, but instead it is a series - a very good series - and she can't seem to tear herself away from it. She is on season 2 of a 3 season series. :-)

So easy to setup and use!

This is the only player of this type that I've ever used, but I found the combination of ease of use and service selection to be fantastic! This is one of the few players that allows you to use both Amazon Prime and Netflix without jumping through hoops.

I just wish I had bought my roku sooner, I bought the Roku 2 which," when I researched it "was said to be just as fast as the 3, but with no earphone remote or voice recognition.I figured I could live without that and save a few dollars.EXTREMELY PLEASED!!!!!!!!!!
