Nice addition!

This was a present - I wasn't sure Roku would add much with a smart TV. It was easy to set up once I was reminded that I needed to switch to the right source (ooops). Amazon Prime video is MUCH easier than on the TV, and Roku has a wide range of free channels as well as paid subscriptions. I'm really enjoying it. My only complaint is that few of the featured (easy to find) channels interest me.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Pros - I choose what to pay for and get what I want. I don't pay for 250 channels just to watch about 5.
Cons - Some channels by providers, lets say Sling TV, advertises specific channels that I watch, however occasionally and very rare the provider (sling tv) won't have the rights to show that program. I guess that isn't a mark on Roku itself but on overall experience of using Roku especially if you are trying to "cut the cord"

Can be confusing

Channels marked "Free" are not necessarily so. Once clicked on a choice, money is required to access that particular station. Others require sign in which translates computer usage --(located in another room)..Point is, it takes minutes to access a channel then find out it's not available as "FREE"..or that computer usage is necessary. Go back to office to try to sign in, then return to TV room to check it out. My "Time" is valuable, to me. With this said, still, I won't be going back to cables

Great Cable Replacement!

I've owned the Roku 2 for about 3 weeks and I love the available content and the ability to hook up a hard drive and watch old videos. The only thing stopping it from getting 5 stars is the remote. Button 'clicks' are slow to register and it is frustrating. I have resigned to using my tablet in lieu of the remote.

Fast with lots of Apps

My previous streaming device was/is a Chromecast. I switched to the Roku 2 for more apps and faster speeds. And, it has delivered, particularly when connected via an ethernet cable (it is still much faster than my Chromecast when using the wifi). I enjoy having a lot more selections to choose from. That said, the Chromecase offers Comedy Central and Google Play Music, which I wish were on the Roku.
