Cutting the cord

I have had the Roku 2 for about 2 weeks now. I bought it after reviewing a lot of similar products online. We don't watch a lot of TV, usually just movies, so I figured, let's try it! We really like it! The search feature is amazing. It enables us to search through all of the apps once, not within each specific app. The streaming is great... We've never had a problem with it being slow or waiting. Set-up was really easy too, though I don't like having to put in a credit card. One big mislead... I thought I would be able to access local television, ie:ABC, NBC, etc... This is not true and very disappointing. It doesn't even give the option for the apps.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Reliable and fast

Bought two weeks ago, replacing a three year old Chromecast dongle that had always been slow and dropped signals frequently. I also much prefer the Roku's dedicated remote to using my tablet or phone because everyone in the room can see what's on and what the choices are. We have the 2015 Roku 2 and I understand from owners of earlier Roku 2s that they have an RF remote, while ours is IR: no problem if you don't mind the Roku sitting out to allow for line of sight control--it's pretty unobtrusive and we don't have an enclosed cabinet so it works fine. The channel selection is pretty robust, although a couple channels (TWC for instance) is not offered in our area.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Loads of features and options. Only problem I have is that when I use the Roku I have to turn my volume way up to hear it.
