I got mine about 2 weeks ago. did not come with the cords you need to hook it up. every channel need you to register. not at all what I expected. Once all the nonsense is done I do like it.

This is my second Roku I had one on my upstairs TV for about two years. I bought one for my downstairs TV because I have had it with the cable TV bill. The Roku 2 is quick, easy to install, easy to use and Roku has hundreds of free channels that you WANT to watch. For instance the HISTORY CHANNEL and PBS. There are many streaming news channels and many movie channels. SAVE MONEY NOW CUT THE CABLE GO ROKU!

I had a Roku One and enjoyed it. I wanted one for another tv and bought Roku 2. After a couple of weeks, it started to freeze. I tried all the fixes but nothing seemed to help.
Returned it for same model and after 2 weeks, it seems to be good.

CABKE KILLER. Satellite... Not yet

Unlimited internet? Get rid of cable altogether.
Not unlimited, as in, you live in he country and are stuck with satellite internet that has a cap? Keep using your satellite TV until the day you can upgrade to unlimited internet... Then cancel as soon as you can.
Roku lets you finally watch what you want and only pay for what YOU choose.

I have the APPLE TV and the ROKU stacked on top of each other, each with their own HDMI connection to the same TV. Same cable brand/type. The Apple TV is a great product, but I prefer the ROKU 2. The remote control is far more user friendly, the box is far more responsive, and the software updates are simple. I have not used the "mirroring" feature yet, but I intend to do so. If that works, I don't need APPLE TV except to access iTUNES. I haven't yet looked at the full line up of stations available, so I can't compare the two in that regard. They DO have spotify with ROKU 2, and not with apple TV, though mirroring takes care of that issue.
