Each model and version seems to be an improvement of an already very good product. Fast and consistent, connects to my WiFi with no interruptions.

Only thing I Don not like is that some stations require a cable subscription to have like Disney JR and some other kids stations. Despite that, totally worth the investment.

Works fine, and goes beyond my expectations. My only complaint is that it overwhelms my internet connection. It dominates the connection, and interferes with others trying to use the internet WiFi. I get complaints when my roku is connected, because it does not automatically share the connection. It takes over, and others can't utilize the internet. I should not have to adjust the connection, I'm not a net wizard! But, I'm forced to control my roku via the WiFi adapter to stop it from dominating the connection! Roku should have anticipated this, as and put in a setting for controlling such problems. Isn't that part of why it cost so much?

The remote on the Roku 2 is not fast enough

There are new batteries in the remote, however when I change the channel it lags a lot. The interface of Roku is easy to use. But I'm not happy with the slow reaction time to the remote to TV. The price could be lower.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Excellent streaming media player!

Bought the the Roku 2 to replace Chromecast, and I have to say, big difference in streaming! Kept having pixelating and freezing issues with the Chromecast whereas the Roku 2 reacts faster and plays smoothly, all the way through the media. It also has a very intuitive menu which I like a lot. Very, very satisfied with my purchase!!

A mixed bag

The Roku itself is relatively inexpensive, and for me the set up was simple and went without any problems. I purchased the Roku with the specific intent of hoping it might replace cable TV in my home. The reason for only a 3 star rating is I'm disappointed in the content, at least so far. I've only had it about 2-3 weeks and there are a lot of channels to explore. I looking at the free stuff first, and it really is a lot of JUNK. Most of the free channels make Netflix's choices look like A list movies. I'm talking the worst of the worst. I do not want to blame Roku for this because I realize that the Roku is just the hardware that carries these channels, and the real culprits here are the people who create these channels. The better quality pay-per-view content can add up real fast, and if you are watching some TV most every day you will probably not be saving money compared to a modest to middling tier of cable TV.
I would recommend this to a friend!
