Roku - A great alternative!

We cut the cable cord about 3 weeks ago and haven't looked back yet. The Roku 2 (2015 version) is fast, easy to use - especially the remote - and set-up was also very easy. Occasionally, Netflix needs to reload and we find it's better to just back out to the Roku HOME screen and start again - but sometimes that happens on our speedy computer as well. I especially like the web-based pages for organizing my account and subscriptions.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Box Disappointing IR Remote

I replaced a Roku XS box with the Roku 2 and the improved performance over the older generation box is great. The added LAN port and faster performance were the deciding factors in my purchase. However, the XS Bluetooth remote is superior to the Roku 2 IR remote which is a bit of a disappointment. The IR remote restricts placement of the Roku 2 box and in my experience is extreme line of sight as I have to be pointing directly at the box. Sightly off axis and the remote does not work. With a BT or WiFi remote it would be an outstanding box.

The greatest. It has made viewing movies so convenient. Truly, a nice addition to our entertainment package.

Our third Roku!

This was our 3rd Roku (we obviously think they're great). We have the Roku 1 for our kids' playroom, Roku 3 for our bedroom (can quietly watch with headphones to not disturb my wife), and now the Roku 2 with the fast processor like the Roku 3. The Roku 2 really hits the sweet spot for us since it's so fast and affordable. If we had any more TV's in our house, this is the one we'd be getting.
