It's like a second receiver that can do more

I got it for our second TV that does not have a receiver and to take to a friends house who could never get his TV to work right. My kids and I love it. I specially like being able to watch amazon prime videos and some other subscription TV like ESPN or Disney channel.

Learning about all the great features of Roku 2

I've only had my Roku 2 a week, but found it's easy to use and fast (this was one of the selling points!). I don't mind the direct line needed for the remote at all. I'm still learning about the features and offerings, but I prefer it over other streaming products I have used.

I bought this unit to replace the blue-ray player I had and wish I had it all along.With all the apps that can get added on,wow.Will be getting more for other TV's.

I'm absolutely satisfied with this product. My laptop has been stolen, and my tablet is broken, as a college student these mishaps are the end of your life. I price shopped and compared different products before purchasing my Roku and I'm glad I did because this buy is one I'm completely in love with. I would've purchased the chrome cast, but the quality of the programs, movies, and shows are as if I'm in the theaters. It's far from cheap but easy on the wallet. Money well spent and I look forward to seeing what other products this company places on the shelves.

Great improvement over the previous one (2050X)

I upgraded from my old 2050X, and it is a vast improvement in both speed and video quality. Like the expansion with microSD cards too. However, I miss the RCA audio jacks. I had to purchase extra cords and a translator for the digital audio out on my TV.

Roku turned my HD TV int a Very Smart TV

Just bought the new Roku 2 and it delivered on all its promises. It turned my beloved Samsung HD TV into a smart tv without being restricted to the Samsung proprietary smart TV technology. Translation-didn't have to buy a smart TV to get all the benefits of a wireless connection. Roku came to the rescue and while we have the Xfinity 1 package, this RO2 just added more to the capabilities of our existing technology. We highly recommend this new Roku 2 (fast processor) and if you want headphone functionality, go with the Roku 3.

Roku 2 was given to us as a gift. I like it so far as I learn more about it. The set up instructions are great and you made it simple. I had a couple glitches no sound one night and You Tube was not available but all worked fine the next day. I noticed the free movie selection the movies are quite old and I don't find many appealing so far. I was hoping to see old seasons of Downton Abby on PBS but no luck. I think this an awesome product if you purchase Netflix, Showtime etc all things considered.

roku1 vs 2

I purchased a roku 1 last November and was impressed .When my smart tv wouldn't update and started to go bad I purchased a roku2 . The 2 is faster loading and has a wired connection and says it will update but that I will have to see in the future, it appears the roku 1 wont update.
