Fantastic for cable cutters

Absolutely love the freedom I have with TV using the Roku! We started with the stick and have recently upgraded to Roku 2. The only draw back is how precise the remote aim needs to be. Other than that...excellent!

Bad purchase

The controller is not very responsive. I have to have the remote pointed almost perfectly at the box. Play back has been off and on. Hdcp, content disabled pops up when playing a lot of my files. Even for Netflix and YouTube playback.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Don't buy the Ruku stick!

I bought the Ruku stick and within three months it quite working...I believe that the problem was the remote. I did enjoy Ruku and wanted to replace it but bought the Ruku 2 instead. Not sure I would recommend the stick at all.

Good but not Great

I bought this to replace my Apple tv. It does have a lot more channel than the Apple, especially Acorn, which is the main reason I bought the Roku. However, one thing I don't like about the Roku is that it crashes a lot. Never had that problem with the Apple. Not sure why this happens but it is beyond annoying. If it keeps happening on a regular basis, I will go back to the Apple...... Jury is still out on this one. I'll let you know after I've used it more whether having the extra channels is worth the hassle of it crashing!
