As an owner of a smart tv, two blu-ray players, an Xbox, and a previous owner of an Amazon Fire TV, this is the greatest streaming media player I have used. I enjoy the countless retro tv apps and the variety of programming. My only complaint is the amount of commercials you have to watch for the free apps.

We almost canceled our streaming services because the smart tv made them unwatchable. The roku we got, roku 2, was a game changer. TV isn't everything, but it's a straight up bummer if it's all herky jerky. Roku fixed us right up.

I love Roku. I no longer have cable. All my shows are just a click away and the absolute best thing is there are no commercials. I have used Roku players for years now. The only reason I got new one's is because we got a lightning strike that destroyed all my electronic devices. Once I purchased new TV's, the Rokus were next. I subscribe to Netflix and there are so many that are free. It is just a matter of choice..

I miss the headphone jack!

We had an older generation Roku 2 that we ended up giving to my in-laws because they liked it so much. We bought a replacement recently, and were disappointed to learn we couldn't plug it in with the AV cables or use headphones in the remote like we could with our old one. It's so annoying to have to swap the HDMI cables around when we want to use a different device, and HDMI splitters are a pain and a half. Except for those disappointing changes, we still love Roku! I would have given our old one 5 stars, but this one is still awesome enough for 4. We love the variety of channels and the ease of setup!

I have the older Roku 3 and liked that one a lot so I decided to move that to the family room and get the new Roku 2. The first thing I noticed was the remote doesn't work nearly as well as the old one. I find myself using my phone with the app instead. The other thing I have noticed is the player stops pretty often and reloads when watching Hulu. It also shuts itself down and completely restarts a couple times a month. I would still recommend it though, I think the buffering issues are more of a hulu thing and I can work around the remote issues.
