Super fast

I bought this to replace my older model player, I decided to go with Roku 2 because of the claim it was fast and it is. Movies load movies load much faster as well as logging into your accounts.

New Viewing Options on Budget

At first I was overwhelmed with the choices available with the Roku. I must admit I didn't really understand the system and what it offered. I just wanted to cut the cable while preserving viewing options I valued. Each day I learn more and thus become more pleased with being able to choose what I view and - mostly - when I view it. I use a combination of Roku options and free TV broadcast programs that allow me to get regional and national news mirrored from my computer. Once I get the hang of it I expect to be more pleased.

Finally, we have an alternative in sync with our previous decision to cut the cable TV feed. ROKU allows us to target exactly what we want to watch iusing a simple interface device. Almost immediately, we subscribed to Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime and Sling;.I'lm happy to endorse ROKU as preferred to the 99,999 channels of stuff the cable TV folks were offering for a price that keeps going up and up.

No more cable!

I purchased two Roku 2 because I have read the reviews on Roku 3. I love it. I am able to watch the shows that I love to watch. I am not paying outrageous pricing for cable shows I don't watch.

Excellent Viewing Options

I bought my Roku 2 about 2 months ago and wanted to wait until I had some solid experience with the device before writing a review. I LOVE IT!!!! I was tired of paying for cable so I cancelled cable and got this streaming device. Set up is super easy! The online guide walks you through the process. You do need a credit card. I know some reviewers where upset by this but I haven't had any unaccounted for charges and it makes it super simple if you want to order something. The bonus is you can add an account password so you can't accidentally buy something and kids can't buy things without your permission. I can't really address the free channels since I primarily use Hulu, Amazon Prime, and CBS all Access. However, the cost of these services are minor compared to the cost of cable. The picture quality is great. I only had one small issue with a program downloading and it was not the device but Hulu, which was back online shortly thereafter. I really enjoy the variety of programming that I can receive. I have a Smart TV but I could only download certain apps and I kept losing my wireless signal. I haven't once lost my wifi signal with this device. The only thing I don't like is that the device gets very hot. I have it sitting on a coaster and I unplug it when I am not using it which works well for me. Overall I think it is a fantastic device and I haven't missed having cable at all.! (I have recommended this device to all my friends and family I am so happy with it.)

I bought this to get Sling TV. It was easy to setup and my wife and I were watching shows, channels in a few minutes.
