Better than advertised !

There are many of these products out in the market place . All have there attributes ,short comings and prices. I bought the Roku 2 and without doubt it has the best features , station offerings and ease of use than any of the others. It also is the best value for its price. It exceeded my expectations.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Roku 2-Squared : A model 2 is our 2nd Roku!

This is our second Roku unit, the first was a gift from our son about two years ago. We'd had enough with "a major cable/internet" provider and started investigating all of the channel options on Roku... (We'd primarily been using just Pandora and Amazon Prime for a good two years.) We added more channels to our first box and based on what we found we decided to take the plunge, ie: dump our existing provider and buy a second Roku, a model 2. It took us all of about 15 to 20 minutes to get it ALL set up and running with a 22", HDMI compatible, speaker-equipped monitor that we'd been using with one of our computers. The "other half" is elated to have TV in her workroom. We suspect that we'll ultimately get a third Roku and upgrade the monitor in the workroom to a 32", HD TV with tuner capabilities so that we can attach an HD antenna, in addition to the Roku box. We love our Roku units: Easy to install; easy to use; wide selection of channels; good quality signal.

Crashes and loses connection

Must completely restart every other day. Loses connection frequently. Overall, when it works it works.....but when doesn't work. It REALLY doesn't work!

The Roku 2 works well and is very fast. It was relatively easy to set up and worked well with my wi-fi equipment. I liked the ethernet plug that allowed me to hardwire into the internet I was a little disappointed that there was no RCA jack or other sound outlet. With the older model Roku I was able to run an RCA sound connection to my stereo system and bypass the TV speakers. But, other than that it worked fine.
