The industry standard for streaming.

The Roku truly is the industry standard for streaming players. I started off with a D-Link Movie Night streamer. Glitchey and limited was about as nice a comment as I could make on the D-Link. Then I bought a Roku LT. Nice little streaming player that I had very few issues with. I think I had it freeze up once, but simply unplugged it and restarted it and it was fine. My wife and I gave it to an elderly couple we know so they could cut the cable and enjoy internet streaming. I then bought an Amazon Fire Stick, because at the time it was on sale to prime members. I thought hmmm $20 what the heck I'll try it out. The Fire Stick wasn't bad, but after using it awhile you could tell that it was geared primarily for Amazon prime streaming, without a great deal of attention to any other services. The Netflix app would freeze, then speed up to catch up to the audio over and over. It did not do this while watching Prime streaming videos. After a few tests and swaps, I determined it was the Netflix app on the Fire Stick. (I even swapped out my router for a new one). I decided to retire the Fire Stick and ordered a Roku 2. The processing speed is impressive and of course the Netflix streaming is glitch free. The only thing I miss from the Fire Stick is that Roku doesn't have is the Pluto TV app.

Purchased an Apple TV a year ago. I wish I would had purchased a Roku instead. More features and viewing options.

I am a little dismayed because i can tell in a few months i'm going to be sick of netflix..especially when new stuff comes out. although the other options are better they cost more as well... If I had a 'smart tv'.. i wouldn't have a roku, I'd have amazon prime & maybe one more subscription. Still there's a lot of value in the roku 2 i suppose.

I picked up this player so that I could pick up and install the Sunday Ticket app. I am out of market for my team so this option was just perfect for me. It only took a few minutes to unpack and hook up. My only complaint is that for each app you have to log in individually. If Roku could memorize the sign in information for use across several apps it sure would make it perfect.
