I recently upgraded to the next level of Roku. Bought a Roku 2 and am not impressed at all. The least expensive one is much better. It is easier to access and like the Netflix section much better. I have to constantly press the button in order to access any channel. If you are not aiming it at the light on the box forget it. Am glad I kept my old one.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Ability to cache via the processor is a huge plus

We now have three Roku products in our home: the first was to enhance an Insignia 32" Roku-ready TV bought in May; the second was the standard streaming USB stick to view in the living room; and finally I bought a Roku 2 to help with the connectivity issues we were having with the USB stick. The Roku 2's processor enables caching of the stream so that if a stream is interrupted for any reason we don't lose the stream completely, and access and recovery is much faster. Note: I did not say "perfect", because it is not - video streaming is dependent on a multiple of factors (location/distance of Wi-Fi router, ,max. download speeds, etc.) but the processor in the new Roku 2 helps resolve some of the issues we encountered rather well, although some streaming services seem to be better than others (thumbs up to Amazon and Netflix, but Google+ and Acorn have some work to do...)

I've had it about a week, bought it for CBS all access app! So far, loving it! Havent used my WDTV box or smart TV since! There are so many more options, a wide variety of apps!

Have tried many different devices, all make great claims. The Roku 2 works just as they said it would. Picture quality is great. Really easy to use. Set-up...Well lets just say if I can do it anyone can. Will be getting another for the up-stairs bedroom!!

I was surprised at all the of the possibilities. I was unable to find price of what I was subscribing to until I signed up for free months. Could you put the price on the box on the TV/program?
