Great Alternative

This is a great alternative to high priced satellite and cable plans. Plus, I'm not paying for a bunch of infomercial channels that I'll never watch. The only drawback is the sling channel. Don't get me wrong, it's great, I just wish it responded better when trying to change the channel.

Canceled my cable and got this bad boy. So far digging it though miss some of thing things I got on local TV for free. I am still learning all the in's and out's so maybe I just need to find the right channels. One thing that's a bummer is the screen mirror function. I have an iPhone and the function only works for android at this point. I think once that changes then I'll be 100 percent all in.

An amazing little box!

I bought this recently after having a horrible time with a new smart tv (Netflix would buffer after only seconds) and reading page upon page of consumer reports and reviews. I returned the tv, bought a much cheaper dumb tv and a ROKU and have never been happier. Hulu, Netflix and Amazon work like a charm. It pulls my movies from vudu without a hitch. And no (well very little) buffering! My only complaint is that the separation of free vs paid channels is misleading. Though some do list a need for a subscription with the price, many others simply say "free"and these often don't list the cost of a subscription even in the program until you commit - not ahorrid thing but annoying enough to warrant a lack of half a star (but since I can't do halves, a full star)

After much deliberation and research, I decided that I should purchase the ROKU 2 unit. And to my surprise I can't believe how much more we use the features on the Roku as opposed to watching regular TV. My children are so delighted to watch all the child friendly programs and it's so easy to use. Couldn't be happier.

I have been using The Roku 2 for about to weeks and it i fantastic . Plenty of Apps , Very fast and easy to use. Love it.

Great option for cord-cutters

This has so many options of channels to eliminate the need for cable/satellite. The only thing I would mark it down for is that it's annoying to have to point the remote at the little box to change or select a channel. The previous Roku 2 didn't require that. You could point it anyway. But it's a small price to pay for the freedom from cable/satellite.
