I bought this to travel with and watch movies and shows that aren't available at motels. I love it !!!

We bought this a month ago and I'm thinking it was a waste of money. Our 4 yr old Sony blu-ray dvd player is way more functional, intuitive and easy to use. Amazon, netlix, youtube etc., are simple one-clicks instead of a roku hunt through a cumbersome menu. Yeah, roku has more sites, but I haven't found anything yet that I would call riveting or engaging. Furthermore, most of the free app sites are for a month or two only then the charges commence. The news sites were a major disappointment. They have very limited content and what's there is old and cold.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I purchased a Roku to watch Netflix through but have also discovered lots of other terrific features like hulu and sling tv. I am glad to see an alternative to high cable costs.

I absolutely love my Roku! I ditched satellite months ago and have been using only an antenna. The Roku is easy to set up and use and there are wonderful options, many of them free. I highly recommend the Roku.
